For an hour and a half we were like Hobbits in Lord of the Rings, threading our way along a subtly-lit path through the stalagmites and a jaw-dropping cavern that I guess would have swallowed the world’s biggest sports stadium.

Soca River Day Trip
Over highest Slovenian mountain pass Vrsic to mysterious Soca river
The town of Kobarid played an important role during the WW1 period, that even the great Ernest Hemingway wrote about in his novel Farewell to Arms. Several sites on the way crossing the mountain pass Vrsic are marked by this important historical event, offering unique views of a ropeway conveyor, pitfalls, the Russian Chapel, the Kluže Fortress, various military via ferrata and many other unspoiled features of great natural and historical value.
One final stop at the Kozjak waterfall – one of the most picturesque and stunning waterfalls in Slovenia before heading back to Ljubljana.
– 8.30: Start of picking up in Ljubljana
– 9.30 – 12.30: Drive through the Alpine region to Soca valley with stops on interesting sightseeing locations
– 13.00 – 15.00: Rafting / WW1 museum in Kobarid
– 15.30 – 17.00: Kozjak waterfall
– 19.00: Arrival back to Ljubljana
